Guinness World Records recognized Frenchman Richard Plaud's 23.6 ft matchstick Eiffel Tower as a record height. Initially, Guinness rejected it for using the wrong matches. Plaud spent 4,200 hours over eight years building his model from more than 706,000 matches and 23kg of glue.
